How do I avoid lightning strikes?

For personal safety, never be the tallest thing around during a storm.  A bolt of lightning can be generated without warning.  Surprisingly, in a 40 year period (1940 - 1980) more people were killed by lightning than by tornado, flood or hurricane.  Over 180 people a year died... countless injured.

Business safety dictates that suitable lightning protection systems be installed in those areas prone to lightning strikes.

Lightning can disable more than a person being struck by it.  An improperly installed lighting arrestor can actually cause more damage to other electrical equipment and electronics, such as computer systems, etc.
